I love life. I have an incredible passion for teaching, reading, writing, traveling, smiling, jumping, singing, talking, debating, listening to music, painting, sewing, hiking, canoeing, mountain climbing and laughing. Pretty much, I love everything and anything. Most of all, I love teaching. In no other arena in life have I discovered so much freedom for my creativity where I am also accepted for my innovative and sometimes "crazy" styles. I love my students so much and will go to great lengths to ensure their happiness and success.
Besides having a career in education that I adore and a passion that drives me every day, I am an amateur artist and creative writer. By teaching, I can also incorporate my writing and artistic skills into daily lessons, final exams and I stand as an example for my students of having multiple careers. I have also found a new passion for mountain climbing, as my father and my brother introduced me into the lifestyle about three years ago. We had an amazing summit on Mt. Rainier in Seattle, Washington in the summer of 2009. It was the first summit involving more than two Sarlitto family members with the first female to summit in the Sarlitto family as well. I plan to climb many mountains in the future and the next on my list is Mt. Kilamanjaro in Africa.
About a year and a half ago, I decided to embark on a new adventure. I joined the Peace Corps and in December of 2009, I found my new placement in a country of Albania. I am beginning my new journey on March 15th where I will fly to Philadelphia and then, after two days of training, I will fly to Albania where I will begin my two year, three month service as a University Educator. I will be educating teachers on the English language as well as training them how to become the most efficient and innovative teachers.
A few paragraphs can not even scratch the surface of my ambition, determination and passion to change the world. Yet hopefully, this site will give the viewer, and myself, a little more insight into my trials and tribulations, as well as the wonders of dedicating one's life to educating people around the world.
Read with care, laughter, awe and tears. In whatever way, let my words move you. But more importantly than tears and smiles, may they move you to act.
